Re: Std suspension Mk1
Good, the Mk1 Golf stuff is the same
I am surprised to hear the kit you linked to didn't drop as far as advertised, even better knowing it has a ride more suitable for someone of my age!
Thanks for the help
Russ

Std suspension Mk1
My Mk1 Storm sits on some unknown red springs, its lowered and does not ride particularly well. There seems to be plenty of choice for Mk2 suspension and springs, but not much for Mk1. What is the difference between the two? are they the same? If I get the standard replacement Bilstein B4 spec dampe...

Re: Where to get some bits?
I managed to get a set of the earlier aluminium trims. Cost an arm and a leg, but it does look much better for it!

Re: Chrome trims and Bumpers - Mk1
I am sure I responded to this, but I cant see anything now!
Thanks for all the help, I will get busy with the heatgun on the bumpers
I am pretty sure there are no holes in the trim or the gutter flange, but will check at the weekend
Russ

Chrome trims and Bumpers - Mk1
I hope you chaps can help with a couple of questions. I have managed to source some aluminium trims for the roof flange/gutter to replace the horribly discoloured plastic ones, one side seems to hold on correctly but the right side will not stay in place and keeps coming off. Has anyone had this pro...

Oil Pump Change
I have a 1.6 Injection EG engine that the oil light comes on at tick over when hot. It goes away quick enough when the engine is revved, and it was slightly improved with an oil change. But..... I'm told that fitting a new oil pump is a straightforward exercise and can easily be accomplished with th...

Re: Where to get some bits?
Thanks for the help I have ordered a spare key just need to track down some of these trims, I'm not too fussed about total originality, but would like it to look presentable. I read somewhere on here that the Mk1 Golf stuff is too narrow, but if it tidies the windows up and keeps the screen in it ma...

Where to get some bits?
I have just got myself a nice Storm, pics are in the area above It is in quite good nick for a 35 year old car, but inevitably there are a few things I would like to get sorted. I hope you helpful chaps can guide me! The 'chrome' surrounds of the front and rear screens are quite bad, they are plasti...

Re: Show us your mk1
Hello All After coming along to the Cosford show this year, I decided I had to have another one myself I had to be a Mk1, looking around the pickings are very thin when it come to Mk1's. Then this came up. I wasnt looking for a Bronze one really, but it looks much better in the flesh. IMG_0539.jpg I...
