had failed to notice it is for a 1.6 but will be fine for our example carb
BUT it leads me to question that I have pondered often
ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW WHY THE MAIN JETS ARE BIGGER IN THE 1.6 THAN IN THE 1.8 ????
I will certainly be giving it a blast to try it out

we will use it as an example to clean up and photograph so the register can see that the Pierburg has a future....
maybe also I have an idea....an exchange scheme....I do it up ready just to bolt on and you send me your problem carb ???

my big question is is anyone out there an engineer who can make up some nice knurled adjuster screws
it seems they are M5 with a o.5 pitch ...

I say yes but we cant all find the mafco units
so we keep the pierburger enrichment system and deal with extra revs needed ourselves
I will explain more soon lets see if this pdf loads

yes marc that's again a sign of the old auto choke not doing its shit.....I was amazed when I got my manifold off....the coolant hole rubber that comes with the gasket set has a diameter of at least an inch.....now maybe my car has been sat around sometime as it has 55 thou genuine miles but I kid ...

anyway I like the idea of keeping the auto choke...when it works its fine its cool

sounds like shit in the system
step 1. remove back seat and the little cover... remove fuel gauge sender plug, remove the clips on the pips...bin them and replace with jubilees only when you have solved problem....pull pipes off and turn the whole thing anti clockwise to lift off and out....check it ...

bare with me later I will give you a step by step with photos.....trust me man there is nothing the wrong with the pierburg after we bin half the gubbins bolted to it....I intend to change the whole view of this carb here and on any golf site.....since I was a kid I loved carbs....they don't phase ...
