The ones listed are for 8v gti mine being on a carburettor shouldn't make a difference should it? I'll probably plump for a full new set, already don't the rubber gasket and new belt and tensioner around 12 ...

Right so my tappets are noisy as hell when she's cold... annoying to say the least. I've tried a flush and it made no difference so it's time for new... so my question is obviously where can I find the parts needed to replace them? They're hydraulic on my 89 GT (webber) by the way.

I have... Used a universal one... Worked well carrying my bike and my mates heavyweight steel leviathan bike, one thing I will say is I didn't go that far (I was taking the car about 15 mins into town to drop it off for some work done, figured we'd have a little 'ride' home)

I'm waiting on the rugby league fixtures to decide when I come, if my team (St Helens) play on thurs night I'll pop down Friday to camp... If we play on Friday then we'll come down on sat mornin with the North West Convoy 8-)

Thanks for the advice fellas... Ended up being a bit bone idle and got my mechanic to do it... Christ it feels like a new gearbox haha!
That's it now, all done and dusted, the bushes were the last thing to do repairs wise... Fingers crossed things stay that way !
