Re: Black sealant for light fittings and trim
I have just bought 10m of fender seal (AKD-497-010-04-R10) and had it imported from the states. Attempting to fix my rear brake lights from leaking. Does anyone know whether it goes on top of the existing rubber seal which is not sticky and goes all the way around the outside of the rear brake light...

Boot plastic fitting
Hi Guys
Any idea what part number these small plastic screws are? They are used to fix a horizontal section of the boot in place next to the parcel shelz, attached to the boot lid.
Many thanks!
Mark

I can't get the metal arm out, that's the other issue. I'm too worried about breaking the plastic housing at the other end that holds the arm in place...

Re: MK2 central locking tailgate locking pin
Thanks. 171837199 - just arrived and they fit in the brass pin, but are too loose to keep the metal arm inside.
I think I'm going to be reduced to grab adhesive at this rate!

Re: MOT failure due to excessive play in MacPherson mount. New mounts fitted but still play! Help!
So it looks as if there was nothing wrong with the strutt mounts... the new ones have exactly the same play as the old ones, which when the weight is on the car completely disappears.
I would not recommend an MOT from Halfords!
Thanks for all the help.

MK2 central locking tailgate locking pin
So I managed to break the tailgate locking pin (small white piece of plastic). I ordered the following part: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-MK2-Golf-GTI-Genuine-OEM-Tailgate-Locking-Pin-191837199/281057926852?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 It is the right size to fit t...

Re: MOT failure due to excessive play in MacPherson mount. New mounts fitted but still play! Help!
Yes I always get problems fitting new spacers sleeves, I now just use the old one. They are meant to be crushed slightly when doing up the nut but I've never managed to squash one yet. I do what is suggested and file down the metal sleeve so it's only just proud and pack the thing with grease so st...

MOT failure due to excessive play in MacPherson mount. New mounts fitted but still play! Help!
Hi guys My Mk2 scirocco failed its MOT due to excess play in one of the MacPherson strut mounts at the front. I have had them both changed, and whilst there is no vertical play, the garage have told me that there is still sideways play. The parts were new, and identical to the original parts, includ...

Retro fitting air conditioning to a 1986 GTX Scirocco
Hi Guys
Do anyone know whether this is possible, and what the cost might be? Is it feasible?
Thanks
Mark
