Re: Rear wheel arch repair sections.
Got it done today. Nowhere near as bad as i thought, just a few inches missing from the wheel arch lip and small amount of rust in the end of the sill. Used the end off a mk1 scirocco inner arch. Worked a treat.

Re: Rear wheel arch repair sections.
From what i've seen/felt so far, hopefuly i've only lost about 3 or 4 inches at the front of the arch where it meets the sill. I was hoping to just to let in metal where recquired hence i only need a repair section with the same curvature to chop up. If the entire arch has gone i'm probably not goin...

Rear wheel arch repair sections.
My mk 2 Scirocco has some rust in the drivers side rear wheel arch . Don't know how bad it is yet because i've been to scared to remove the body kit. Anyway i'm going to need repair sections to weld in where necessary . I know VW Heritage don't make or sell mk 2 repair sections so i was wondering wh...

Re: Mot failure on emissions.
Dipstick is covered in it, as is the oil cap, breather pipe (totally clogged) on filter housing and fair bit under the rocker cover when i changed the gasket last week. Everting has been cleaned out.
Glove idea sound brilliant will give it a go as soon as i get the chance. Many thanks , john.

Re: Brake pressure regulator.
God you've had a lot of cars. Anyway i've never heard of the regulator fialing either . Even though my mechanic swears blind it is just because he had a vauxhall corsa in with same problem last week. Anyway as i've fallen out with my mechanic i'm going to have to take the car somewhere else and have...

Re: Mot failure on emissions.
I was lying in bed last thinking it could be the head gasket. As i said compressions fine, she's not losing water or power but that amount of mayonnaise is a worrying factor. And i assume a car with a dodgy head gasket would send the emissions sky high, and stupidly i've been running around without ...

Re: Mot failure on emissions.
There's a k and n in there at the moment, about a year old . I've had a lot of trouble with the oil emulsifying this winter first time ever in 10 years. And it's been getting everywhere. In fact it's been so bad bad i thought the head gasket had gone. Did a compression test and every things fine. Co...

Re: Insufficient rear brake pressure.
One brake cylinder had to be changed due very slight leak. No contamination to shoes. Brakes shoes, drums, plus springs which are have only done about 3000 miles were transferred to a newish rear beam last week. Everything is basically new and spotless. Had the car on the lift today in the mot stati...

Re: Mot failure on emissions.
Thanks for the advice. Hopefully it will work but 8.7 to 3.5 is one hell of a drop just by tuning the carburettor. I think something else is involved. IE: a vacum pipe. Finding it hard to accept that changing 2 exhaust sections would affect the reading. Think i might have to get the garage to have a...

Mot failure on emissions.
Long story. I fitted a new weber carburettor to my scirocco about 2 years ago. Somebody else tuned it and it passed the fast idle test (c02) with a reading of 3.4. Now last year i noticed the diaphragm was bent on the carb so i bent it back to it's correct position. Now the carb was tuned with the d...

Re: Insufficient rear brake pressure.
Thanks. Sounds possible . I did change the rear beam last week (with help) , and both rear brake pipes were changed at the same time but it's possible the long brake pipes runing along the floor plan connected to the hoses could of been squashed.
