engraved exterior door handle

Hi all, Shortly before buying my scirocco I was looking at a few simple ways to slightly change the appearance of it without taking away it's original look. I saw a pair of chrome inserts for the exterior door handles which had VOLKSWAGON engraved into it, looked quite nice, easy to change over and ...

Re: Oil change

Hi everyone, hoping to do an oil change myself over the next few days. I've got a 1.6l GT Bought an oil filter, 5 litres of that 10w40 oil, and because I fancied doing a relatively simple "part off, part on" fix whilst I've got time at home, I've bought a whole new sump which comes with a plug and ...

Re: Cold Start - High Idle

They weren't specific about what they did but they said they couldn't find anything wrong or broken. They've drained the anti freeze and water and refilled it all and taken the carb off and cleaned it out. It ran okay bringing it home but nothing special. Felt like it was holding back a bit. Taking ...

Re: Cold Start - High Idle

Found a garage reasonably close where one of the guys owned a mk2 scirocco so I figured he'd have a better understanding straight away and took it to him. I like to try do things myself but with no garage and it getting dark early, this is my only car and daily runner and I need it working. He ...

Re: Cold Start - High Idle

Yeah once its going or on a warm day it idles fine, no issues at all. The best way I can describe the pedal, is that it feels the same as it does when the engine is off. It seems to drop back a little when the engine is off and when I started the engine before these problems, it sort of lifts back ...

Cold Start - High Idle

Hi everyone, just another issue with the Rocco unfortunately! I only do short journeys to work (10-15 mins) and over the last 2-3 weeks I've rarely seen my car idling less than 3k-3.5k RPM. Obviously going through town making this sort of racket is getting on my nerves. The thing is some days it ...

Re: Alpine SXE4625S Speaker 6x4

I've got them in my mk2 and have found them brilliant to have compared to the standard ones, and fit easily behind the covers on the doors so the car doesn't look modified

Re: Silicone Hoses

Thanks both of you for the help. There are other parts of the CSR that need more immediate attention at the moment such as the knackered exhaust and the rather crusty looking downpipe so I'll leave the hoses for the cooling system for now. Ive got a febi rubber breather hose online for £7 incl. ...

Downpipe

I've bought a Jetex exhaust system, I live in Stratford which is where they are based so it made sense and im happy with the look of it but haven't fitted it because the downpipe is looking extremely sorry for itself Now I'm torn between getting a standard sized downpipe, or getting a 2.0 one so ...

Re: Show us your Mk2 - picture thread.......

Hi guys. Been asking a few questions about my car so thought it was about time I actually put pictures up! I've spent a while struggling to resize them to get them on the site, so now I've decided to just put up my album on Photobucket instead, so have a look at the link if you're interested http ...

Re: Silicone Hoses

Looks was the main reason i found out about them to be honest. I mean if I'm gonna buy them, they'll look good and I'll never have to get another lot again then I'd be happy with that, the ones on VW heritage state they are mk1 golf hoses that fit Scirocco's. Will that definitely be the case or is ...

Re: Spotted

On the way back from Inters today, spotted an E reg red GT just outside Banbury. Got my hopes up for a moment there as Banbury is my neck of the woods. Alas, mine is a H reg GTII Not been on here till last couple of weeks so late response but that's me :) I live near Stratford but I'm always around ...

Silicone Hoses

Seen a kit on the VW heritage site that offers samco silicone hose replacements for all hoses in a mk2 scirocco. My breather hose is looking quite bad, it looks like its been leaking oil and there are big cracks all along it, amazed no one before me has thought to change it. The pipes leading to the ...

Re: Help with basic upgrades

Where are you based? Near Stratford-Upon-Avon in Warwickshire :) Another question, if I get the weber, will it all attach up with everything that was connected to the pierburg or will I need the full fitting kit? I've seen it saying about fitting fuel filters with, but I've already got an in-line ...
