Re: Ian Croucher - ianaudia4
Horrible news. I didn't really know him but he helped me a lot with my Scala, was always helpful and patient and extremely knowledgeable.

Re: Strong Vibration through Steering Wheel
Yea its the same garage I never paid for the balance because it made no difference when they did it and like you say they were talking waffle. I've changed to adjustable both sides now and roughly tracked em but it was vibrating before I changed them mind.

Re: Strong Vibration through Steering Wheel
No I was debating on a trip to the scrappy but I was just asking for ideas to save me buying everything when it could be one definte thing. I'm through the looking glass abit on this one. I debated whether the tyres are too wide but I haven't changed them since I got them and I never used to get the ...

Re: Strong Vibration through Steering Wheel
Hi forgot to mention wheels have been balanced. Made no difference. I asked for alignment to be done at same time but they said it would take an hour as only one side at time could be aligned.

Strong Vibration through Steering Wheel
Hi all, I'm getting strong vibration through the steering wheel worst at about 60mph+ I've changed: full tie rods both sides, cv's inner outer both sides, ARB Brackets and bushes. Any suggestions? I think it's with wheel bearings, steering bushes, or alloy wheels buckled. Tyres are wearing on the ...
Re: Oil PRV
Fitted new Oil Pump and it's worked a treat all fixed
Re: Oil PRV
Kool thanks
Re: Oil PRV
I've trawled forums and found out for definte that the prv is part of the oil pump on a 16v so I'm hoping it's the same for 8v plus my oil pump will need changed soon anyway so no harm done even if it's not the same as 16v.
Oil PRV
Hi where is Oil PRV is it in the sump with the oil pump? I ask because I think it's sticking open on startup from cold. I'm getting normal pressure at idle but when I go to accelerate the oil pressure goes off the scale and the engine misses and cuts out. So I'm thinking the valve it's sticking open ...

Re: Gearbox gone
Right a poser for you good chaps. My shagged gearbox is a AUG code and I have found a reconditioned one but it is an AMC code. From what I can gleam from das net is that; AMC is a 020 gearbox, AUG is 020 type too and they both are 8v. AMC are from early mk3 golfs and have 24mm Input Shafts whilst ...
