Re: Seats from other car
I love that kind of seat but think they're more suited to a vintage Triumph, MG or maybe a mini.

Re: Seats from other car
Mk2 Golf seats will go straight in, but they sit slightly higher than Standard Sirocco ones. Coraddo seats are a direct fit as well and are lower than Golf seats so more like the original Sirocco position. However these are more 90's and I gather you want an older 70/80s retro look.

Re: MK2 Rear Mirror same as Audi 200?
I'd say there's a very strong chance it would be the same across both. And the part numbers definitely seem to suggest that.

Re: Would you like free road tax ?
The reason it should be 25 years and not 40, was it when it was originally introduced in 2000 I believe it was supposed to be a rolling 25 (at the time I had a 1977 TR7 - great I thought, only had to wait 2 years but it never happened), it never rolled on it was fixed at cars older then 1975. It ...

Re: Would you like free road tax ?
The point of the petition is if it reaches the correct number of signatures then it is a requirement that it's at least discussed in Parliament. It's a way of letting them know what the public think and want. True I doubt it will make any difference but it at least brings the 'request' to their ...

Re: Anyone know anything about compressors?
Yes there's a gauge but nothing that appears to be adjustable.

Anyone know anything about compressors?
Total newbie and probably dumb question, but I bought a little 2hp 50 litre compressor a little while back. Paid £100 but I think it might be broke. Hopefully it can be fixed easy enough, or perhaps I'm just stupid and missing something obvious.

Fitting a gauge into the console
Not sure if this classes as an Electrical question, but I want to fit a VDO oil pressure gauge into the space next to the ash tray. as in this pic:

Factory style alarm LED in dash clocks. Solder-less how to
For no other reason than “I wanted to see if I could” I fancied doing something with the blank LEDs in my clock cluster. I initially thought about a shift lift, but decided that was:
a. a bit stupid
b. expensive, as I’d need to buy stuff
Only 4 of the possible 10 LEDs are used in my car ...

Re: Shift light for LED cluster in dash clocks
I took a load of photos just haven't got round to writing it up yet. I had a spare set of clocks so didn't mind taking a drill to them as I had spares. Luckily it worked out OK
I'll tray and do a how too soon.

Re: Shift light for LED cluster in dash clocks
Thanks guys, and thanks for the link. Wasn't serious enough about it to fork out that kind of money though. It was really a case of not being able to switch my brain off.
In the end I decided to do this...

And just put my immobilizer LED in the spare centre spot for an OEM factory ...

Shift light for LED cluster in dash clocks
I came up with the silly idea that it might be fun to fit a shift light in one of the spare LED spots in the clocks.
A red flashing LED that comes on a tad before hitting the rev limiter. I know it's pretty pointless on a road car but I can't help dreaming up jobs I'll probably never get round to ...

Re: Spotted
There's a red mk2 (with the front lip of the bonnet painted white) just round the corner from me in Thornbury, North Bristol. Wondering if it belongs to anyone on here?
