Mk2 Cosmos Blue Storm on Ebay

Saw this posted on eBay and was curious if anyone knew anything about the history of this one. It's in pretty awful shape. It almost looks like it was vandalized more than just scrapped. Although a few parts of it don't look too bad - maybe some bits will go to a good home.

I know this thread is a bit old, but if your friend is still looking for one, he might give this company a call.

Service schedule book?

Hello Guys..

Several years ago it was possible to find reprints of the blue Volkswagen "Service Schedule" books which came new with the cars. These are the booklets where you'd record maintenance.

I'm having a hard time finding any now and was just curious if anyone has run across these recently ...

Re: 1980 GLS with 23,000 miles at Historics

Sorry for the double post - just saw the thread about this in the other forum.

This one isn't as bad as the R32 on BAT which had 97 miles and sold for $104k. In that case, as soon as you put a few thousand miles on the car, it's value drops significantly. Not to mention if you got into even a minor ...

1980 GLS with 23,000 miles at Historics

This doesn't come up too often ... a 23,000 mile GLS which looks to be in pretty nice condition from the photos and video. Sold today at auction.

Re: Oil cooler oil leak

Hi Guys - I have to do this job soon as well and have a question - do you recommend any kind of sealer or gasket dressing with the new paper gasket or just make sure the mating surfaces are clean and install the paper gasket dry between the engine block and the oil filter mounting? I don't normally ...

Scirocco GTI on Historics auction site

I saw this low mileage LHD Mk2 Scirocco GTI on the Historic's Auction house site. It sold yesterday for 5040GBP.

It looks like a Scirocco Register sticker on the windscreen so maybe it was owned by ...

Re: Wanted- Warm up regulator fuel line - DX

The two WUR fuel lines (067133655B and 067133657B) are the same part number for the Mk1 Golfs with K-Jetronic and the Mk1/Mk2 K-Jetronic Sciroccos. The airbox and fuel distributer are located on the left side of the car (if you are sitting in the car).

Joost - you may be thinking of the Mk2 Golfs ...

Re: All Original 1984 GTi

Saw this as well. I really like the GTI. It looks good without the body kit and the smaller spoiler.

It's an interesting car - kind of a mix of the changes for 1984. Has the newer double wipers, but still has the full sized spare and therefore smaller fuel tank.

I'd say more than "a lot of work ...

Re: Scala Up For Auction with Bonhams

"Sold for £ 225 inc. premium"

Where on earth did that estimate of £4,000 come from?!

Who knows? I don't know why the seller would bother with an auction house for that car.. maybe they were hoping for £4,000? Why not just sell it on eBay ? They probably would have done better than £225 as a ...

Re: Scala Up For Auction with Bonhams

For some reason, maybe people locked up for COVID, the price of Sciroccos seems to have gotten insane lately.

This 1986 GT S was sold sometime in the second half of 2020 for £7995, which is a ton of money. That being said, at least from the pictures, the car looks amazing.

Re: Scirocco Production Information

Very interesting. I had assumed the sticker in the boot was identical to the one in the service record book, but the one in the boot has the additional PKN and shipping codes. The date on mine is 10 June 1992 which doesn't quite match the production date shown on EKTA which is 5 June 1992, so I ...

Re: Scirocco Production Information

In theory I will be able to use the the Mk1 as 'a classic' and be exempt from his grasping budget hole fingers from April 2022 - UNLESS I can prove the car was built before April 1981 in which case (I think Mk1 production had halted well before then, possibly August 1980 to allow for Osnabruck to ...
