Black paint on a very lightly loaded gloss type mini roller worked for me some years back...

They came off Volvo 240's/260's, i've always known them as lower airbox's but try getting hold of a parts diagram to get parts no/ correct name to aid you search. I'm guessing they will be very rare to find nowadays...

They sometimes pop up on international e-bay. They have the same part no. as the Mk3 golf ones so it might be worth looking at those, though i think this one is overpriced by about £9 looking at the state of it...

Finally dug out the documents, the car was delivered new on the 6th February 1990 to Role Management Ltd in MK. so it looks like no VW press fleet link unfortunately.

Well spotted, It is a Milton Keynes car, but don't think it was a vw fleet car. Though it was initially a private company car, i'll double check the details in the service book later.
