Re: cutting out
Just another thought guys, I recall the owner mentioning something about the brake servo having an air leak, I know that the manifold end is fully sealed up but would this still have an effect on the idle?

Re: cutting out
I have just fitted a restrictor in the fuel return pipe but the car still tried to cut out, at the same place, about 15 minutes down the road at the end of a highway. I kept the revs up over the next couple of roundabouts and the car *seemed* fine for another 20 minutes or so until I got home. It ...

Re: cutting out
I should say, the fuel return hose was blocked off completely before I removed it from the swirl pot. This was a previous attempt to fix the idling issue and also the high speed stuttering.

Re: cutting out
The fuel return is blocked off but the fuel line is still going from the pump, through the swirl pot before it reaches the carburettor. I have not replaced the swirl pot, to be honest I don't really know what it does, I'm guessing nothing now that the return is blocked off?

cutting out
Hi guys, we have a Mk2 Scirocco that just won't hold idle, it randomly cuts outs. We have replaced the fuel tank, fuel pump, cleaned out the fuel lines, replaced the carburettor for a weber carb with manual choke, given the car a FULL service including many rolling road sessions but we cannot get ...

Re: Cooling hose identification
No number 8 on the diagram goes into the carburettor, the diagram doesn't actually show a hose from the inlet manifold that matches mine!

Cooling hose identification
Hey guys I need a new water hose, it is the one that runs from the inlet manifold to the metal pipe, I can't seem to identify it online. Do any of you know of any sets that I can buy to replace ALL hoses? I found this set but I'm not sure if it replaces every hose in the engine bay: http://www.ebay ...

Re: overheating
I have had the car setup professionally on a rolling road as well, it runs sweet as a nut to be fair. The radiator is working, I did get the thermostat form GSF. I think my next plan of action is to just bite the bullet and buy a new rad, and take out the thermostat, test it, they're only a tenner ...

Re: overheating
Yeah the fan is working, the sensor has been checked and is fine, the coolant is fresh and bled properly. The heater blows super hot air so I'm SUPER toasty during the summer as I have it on constantly to keep the temperature down!!!
