Glad to see you've done so much so quickly!
You've achieved ten times more than I could in a year and a half haha!

Re: Bit of a problem, any help appreciated.
The annoying thing is I didn't know the compression before the incident so I don't know if it has anything to do with that or not. The spark plugs seem to have oil on the tips which is a little worrying, and when I had to pull over when the incident occurred, there was a fair amount of oil on the ...

Bit of a problem, any help appreciated.
Right, I was driving my Scirocco GT2 the other day and suddenly all power died, had to start dropping the gears to try get it back up but nothing was happening, pulled over on the side of the road to inspect, then wouldn't start again. The engine is a 2e bottom end (Mk3 golf) and a Mk1 golf head ...

Re: What's this connector for?
I've got the same wire randomly sitting the engine bay, I noticed it after I changed the engine and couldn't find anything to fit it too, haha!
I think it's got something to do with the pierburg carb.

Re: What wheels are these?
I'd love to come down but the car is so unreliable just now, and is definitely in no show condition.
Hopefully I can get a few hundred hours to work on it over the next few months and get it looking good though!

What wheels are these?
Hi guys, drove through to Glasgow the other week with my mate so he could pick up his 1990 GT2, other than running out of fuel, it went great. Anyway, here's a few shots, it's the car without the ATS Cups, what wheels are they? Never seen them before but they have VW centres. Cheers. http://i1122 ...

I hate to disappoint you, but I got this one 2 months ago and it worked perfectly.

Newman 268 camshaft for 8v gti
Anyone got anything good to say about this camshaft?
I notice it's a lot cheaper than the Kent and Piper alternatives, any reason for this?
Do they wear easier?
Are there any other cams out there that would be better suited for 'fast road' use?
Thanks again, as always guys.

Re: Few Problems, Help please.
Core plugs are down near the driveshafts. You didn't just forget to put the coolant channel O ring in the inlet manifold, did you? shove a clean rag in the breather on the front of the block, as a temporary measure, but don't shove it so far in that it gets caught up in the intermediate shaft. Look ...

Won't go into first.
Just put a new engine in my rocco, got all the gear linkages connected back up and it's pretty much ready to go, but when you try put it into first, it doesn't want to go in. You can do it manually by pulling the bar that attaches to the gear box in the engine bay, but it won't push in from the ...

Re: Few Problems, Help please.
Problem 1 - The 2l block is physically taller, so your carb is closer to the bonnet. Smaller filter time. Or twin carbs if you don't like money. Problem 2 - You can get longer head studs. Have you changed the gasket to a MK3 Golf one already? If not do so, the kit I bought came with crazy long ...
