sounds to me like the fuel pipe in side the tank is partley blocked.iv had this happen on 2 mk2s not sure if they are the same on a mk1. but they are easy to get to ,under the rear seat is where it is undo the plastic cap and look at the gauze. i cut mine off and it was fine (had loads of tiny bits ...

to day i did a dash swap 1977 dash in to a 1980 .1 and a half hours later and my new mint dash was in.
some of the connectors were diffrent bit just so you know its an easy job.

audi 80/100 chrome bumpers?
iv just got hold of a set of audi ...nos... chrome bumpers..£70 the pair with factory stickers still on them. ive offerd them up to my mk1 and i think they will fit the same as the vw intended.
any ideas if they are the same... i have part numbers

yes its a knock and its as in pulling away.and i shift up a gear?

i have a knocking noise when i change gear in my mk1 (one knock per gear change) any ideas????? iv replaced my top mounts thinking that this might have something to do with it.but it didnt

i have a small problem with my engine sump scraping the ground every now and then.
is it possible to raise the engine up 1" without to much work eg useing other types of mounts ?
