if you want a really good finish, your better off doing it yourself, spending a decent time prepping and paying attention to all the little bits.

i used to own a custom bodyshop. make sure you get somewhere with a decent heated oven to paint the car, it will give it a better shine and the paint also comes out harder. 2 pack paint is still soft for couple of weeks after painting so more prone to stone chips.if its baked it should be very durab...

tofee wheel is best but be careful not to burn the paint. but if you have some white spirit or panael wipe dapen a cloth with it (not soaking just damp) and leave over the area for 5 mins then wipe the glue gunge off with a clean rag.

Been thinking and looking into it all, gonna buy a complete g60 and do the swap from there, any more info would be helpful. Was gonna get adaptor plates and use g60 front brakes and 16v rears. Already got coil overs and set of componotives. My mate works at vw and has experience of the older motors ...

Hello and welcome first of all :beers: The problem you have is that you're starting off with a carb car. Most of the popular engine conversions - 2.0 16v or G60 or even 1.8T - will require fuel injection. A good compromise might be a 16v engine - 1.8 or 2.0 - and a twin carb set-up. No complicated ...
