Re: old school California look GTX
latest work done: front bumper came off so I can fit mk1 golf indicators in it but cut one side out and not touched it since as I have had lots to do on the bug. Fitted a new shifter bearing to sort out the wobbly stick but hasn't seemed to have made much difference so when the engine is out I will ...

Skinning the front bumper
I'm in the process of tearing apart the front bumper of my mk2 so I can fit mk1 golf indicators in it so I can clean up the front of the car and get rid of the amber ones in the corners (too cheap to pay silly money for clears and not taken with the look of em). I have the bumper mounts off but the ...

Re: Anyone got these fitted?
I have one like the "Adjustable Short Throw Arm" from these guys http://www.4crawler.com/Diesel/ForSale/ShiftLinkage.shtml got mine from ebay a couple of years ago and cant find them now. works great but if you have the weighted shift rod from a later vw you need to swap it for a normal on...

Re: How does it come off?
try to stay away from WD40 if you are painting as it is a bitch to get rid of from a panel and can cause paint reactions if it isnt all removed. Wurth rust off is much better at freeing bolts and cleans off easier

Re: old school California look GTX
Not been on here much for a while but due to snow and having nothing better to do I have been playing with the rock again and finishing up some bits. I got bored of looking at the stack of amps and false boot floor with a sub in it in my garage so chucked it all back in the car but the sound was rub...

Re: oil cooler removal hoses required
That will be the hose from a Mk 1 then.[/quote] That was what I was thinking but not sure what year vw started fitting the oil cooler. I went with this kit but with the upgrade to stainless lines. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120591090471&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT may ...
