Re: Driveshaft?
Nice one, thanks for that. Sadly tho I will be selling it soon, as I'm moving in with my partner so just gonna be using her diesel car for work while we save for a classic beetle. Just wanted to get an idea of what was wrong and a cost so I know how much I can knock off when selling it. Nothing else ...

Driveshaft?
Hi, I have a 1990 Scala. I have developed a loud knock/click from the front passenger side of the car which sounds abit like a loose brake caliper/pad but it isn't. The knock/click in question seems to slow down and speed up with the motion of the car and can only be heard when accelerating or ...

Re: Speedo change... no fuel guage?
Hey - its the fuel level..... think I have found the problem but not had time to sort it - the connections on the loom to the instrument panel are in a slightly different order than my original unit - so think gonna have to move the wires.

Speedo change... no fuel guage?
I have just changed my instrument panel on my mk2 scala for a mk2 golf GTI... it is the correct one so I believe.... 2pin with MFA *140MPH clock* Everything works ok except I have no fuel gauge. I dont think my original one has a fuel gauge vacuum tube - certainly didnt take it off while removing it ...

Re: Heat-shield is gonna be ripped off!!!!!
Thanks for the reply..... there is no bolt holding it up, but you can't push it up much more than it is already so dont thing that will help. Its pretty bent out of shape, so was thinking of taking it off the car and sorting it out once and for all..... I presume as it has no bolt - ya just unclip ...

Heat-shield is gonna be ripped off!!!!!
I keep getting a rattle underneath the car when decelerating from highspeed or going around corners :( I have narrowed it down to the centre heat-shield near the handbrake cables and my exhaust sitting off centre so it hits one side of the shield..... have made attempts at moving the exhaust which ...

Making the badges silver/chrome?
Ok.... so my VW, Scirocco badges are crappy black colour and rear ones are faded :( Really want nice shiny chrome ones but don't wanna have to get a mortgage to do so! So I thought about spraying them, the front is easy but obviously the rear ones are two tone - silver on black. How the hell can I ...

Re: Clear indicators MK2
I would imagine if your looking at setting up as abit of a sideline business, it would be worth the expense and trouble...... but for just a set for yourself probably not. But I do know they are very sort after with people wanting as much as £90 for a set if not more and some people have even taken ...

Re: HEADLIGHT Problem / CLOCK problem
I had same problem with my headlight - it was the fuse spades corroded. One way of checking this is to swap the 10A fuses over in positions 21 & 22 on the fuse box, this controls the low beam left and right side. If its the fuse, the problem will swap sides - I just rubbed my fuse spades down with ...

Re: Ratty
Yea this is very true - just fancy something a little different to make it stand out because its a stock helios blue scala at the moment..... but I dont want to and cant afford to go down the route of serious modifications, plus a bonnet is just a bonnet and if I end up selling it I can put it back ...
