Which will see her having 3x2 minute rounds against (hopefully) a woman. Included is 8 weeks training for her to get fighting fit and ready for her contest! There a...

Re: Mk2 respray

first step get that metal covered in a primer or etch primer.. if you can do the prep yourself you will save a lot of money as said. it's worth getting some quotes from various companies and seeing their work

Re: why oh why do i help people fix their car!

I do feel your pain Steve and understandably the frustration of those you help that then call a problem with the work done! Same as you Tim, hate sorting IT stuff for family and friends especially if the niggle is something that cant go away without a proper hardware fix that they dont want to pay f...

Re: Wide arch mk2 vr6

12" wide is what I am running for the white lady. you may well get away with leaving the beam standard if you get the back spacing right for the hub but there is not many inches before the wheels foul the leg of the beam. Northants tyres do a selection of 12" wheels

Re: Wide arch mk2 vr6

For me I would go with box or tube cut to the right length rather than cutting and shutting the beam. You can then cut the legs off the old beam and weld them to the new. It gives you another problem though with the beam mounts on the chassis. Some clever sod will get it to work though lol

Re: White lady.. getting down on the floor!

Things have got busy at Insane Creations and Ron has asked me if I can move the Scirocco out for a few weeks whilst other projects happen. I wont be stopping as I can work on the car elsewhere and continue building the dream. Yesterday I cut out the arches to fit the rear wheels properly and also cl...

Re: the other side of the club - the people thing

I appreciate I haven't been as involved as say 5 plus years ago but its good to see the class doesn't change and always found 'rocco'ers the best bunch!
:good: thumbs up to the club and will see you all old and new sometime soon!

Re: White lady.. Off the jig woohoo!!

Cool we now have a fully welded chassis made to Spec 25.1e thanks to Ron at Insane Creations.. Even got a little mock up with the body back on and the door and boot fit being perfect in opening and close.. The next step is floor plans, firewalls and all the little brackets for cables, body mounts, w...

Re: White lady.. Off the jig woohoo!!

Over time that may happen with the welds and if it happened I would need it fixed.. I trust Ron's work as the chassis is to be inspected for tagging in the next couple of weeks. They will then tell him/me that its not up to the job or fine. Full tube race cars running 3000bhp use this same set up so...

Re: White lady.. Off the jig woohoo!!

cheers! at present the chassis is all but upside down being welded up ready then for the paint.. The plates are known as motor plates.. we don't use your standard engine mounts so the front of the engine is held in with one plate bolted to the front horns then another plate used as an adapter for th...

Re: White lady.. Off the jig woohoo!!

I think you would be better finding a breaker and taking the whole roof skin from it.. I don't have the fabrication and welding skills but if it were me I would do it that way.
