I need a new(WHOLE) distributor for my 91 gt2 rocco (engine 1.8 ex carb) I am finding it hard to track one down with the same part number as mine , vw say that have none , ebay is dry and most of the breakers i ring are too , my question is can other distributor's be used from other vw's mk1 golf ...

Found it cheer's guy's i would have been there all day looking in the engine bay .

Does anyone know where the ignition module live's in a 91 scirocco ex carb , i have been told they are either in the distributor or in the engine somewhere , also i have found a few types on ebay

Fixed now!! The size is 14mm i found out, used a 14 mm thread chaser as advised problem solved.

Did what you said , used a 14mm thread chaser greased up , it is now cured :D

Im thinking of just changing the head rather than messing with helicoil's and back tap kit's , If i can find one ebay is dry of ex head's or engines at that ,

Does anyone know the size of a sparkplug for a scirocco gt2 91 ex carb engine , I need a helicoil kit for a threaded sparkplug socket , The chap on ebay who sell's the kit's is not sure of the size and say's he think's (M14 1.25) can anyone confirm this , As the kit cost's 50 quid and i want to make ...

After spending hour's reading up on this , seem's the head has got to come off unless you use a backtap tool with a mandrel greased up to catch the shard's of metal , Im gonna just get the head pulled chance to change the gasket and cam belt if anything , then buy the tool's to rethred the damaged ...

:blush: O.M.G i gone and cross threded one of my spark plug's , i could shoot myself , I am now in a complete panic state breathing into a brown paper bag as im typing .
Does anyone know of a way to helicoil or tap this right without taking off the head , dont realy want to go down that path but ...
