Hi,

I run a small web hosting outfit, primarily for mates and local business', however, am looking to extend my sphere of operations so to speak, hence why I'm now posting up here.

So what am I offering?
Quite simply web hosting, but with whatever features you want added on, including support directly with me. The size of the site is no object (REALLY!), however, I prefer to support folks that are wanting a web prescence with a personal contact (me!) and good support when it's needed.

For example...

A simple website with a blog installed for you (you can choose one, but I'd recommend WordPress) to allow you to catalogue your car exploits with 5 email addresses included and enough storage for 800 photo's would work out at £5 per calendar month, or £50 per year if paid up front. An example of this can be seen at my own blog site (which I haven't updated in forever I know) here : http://www.funkydiver.com

A simple website with a CMS installed (Customer Management Solution) to allow you to advertise your business services and interact with your customers (should you so wish) would work out at roughly £10 per month, with 10 email addresses.

An eCommerce site with SSL and 100 email address with multiple domain names would work out at £40 per calendar month, or £400 per year paid up front.

My offer is for Supported Hosting - meaning that I will give you enough support to get you up and running using a suitable technology to do so (phone, video conference, shared desktop, skype, msn, etc), and ongoing technical support. If you feel that you need Managed Hosting - effectively I do ALL the work except stick up your content - please do feel free to contact me and we can discuss that seperately. The prices for Managed Hosting will be different to those quoted above.

What is NOT included?
From experience, I would rather you own your own domain name from the outset. This means that you would have to register it and there would need to be some information used to make sure it points to your loverly new website. Why does this? A URL is a personal thing. I honestly don't want you to feel that I have tried to trap you into an agreement with me and that you can feel comfortable in the knowledge that you can at any time wander off to a "competitor". This is a trick that some web hosting companies use to keep you in their billing system. I know, I was a victim of it a while ago, hence why I decided to begin hosting my own web solutions.

I WILL support you in obtaining your web address (URL) and can honestly recommend 123-reg for purchasing a URL. They are about the easiest to use and cheapest on a new domain name. They also offer hosting, so if you want to get some pricing, please feel free to compare to what I'm offering :D

I cannot offer support on web design in the price I've quoted above. If you need additional support with this, please feel free to contact me directly for a seperate price.

What Experience Do I Have in Doing This Stuff?

Honestly? I was cracking into banks on my ZX81 in 1983... OK, so we didn't have internet access to banks, but that's where it all started. I've used the web in it's different guises over the years, from when I first went to University way back when everything was still text based. I built my first website back in 1990, and haven't stopped since. I have run a number of ventures over the years (all of which I sold to interested parties) including an XBox Community Website (with over 9000 members) as designer, administrator and coder, 3 online shops (Sporting goods) along with helping local businesses get on the web in a structured and STYLISH manner (some homemade websites do look awful!). I have hosted websites myself now for over 6 years.

T's & C's

1. Websites offering illegal stuff (illegal under UK AND US Law) will not be allowed, the list is exhaustive, but sale of drugs, firearms, body parts, services of a pornographic nature, etc. I will close the site and respectfully ask you to find a new host.

2. You are responsible for your own content, I will not accept liability for anything you write or purport to be true from your own content. Content remains the responsibility of you, including copyright infringement.

3. As this is a service for paid up members of the register, fully paid up members only. If you don't want to pay the Register fees, so be it, I will still ofer you webspace, but the pricing will not be as attractive as above (in reality it'll be cheaper to just join the Register and then get the web hosting :D)

4. Payments - payments will ensure that you maintain 2 clear months paid up front - so at start of contract with me, you will pay for two months, then monthly there after (so you're always a month ahead) if you choose to pay monthly. Annual payments will be required in full. All payments will be via PayPal. If you need to pay by any other method, that's fine... but contact me first.
