Back on October 16th 2016 when I first bought my Scirocco. Since then it's has the rear beam removed (sandblasted and repainted), new suspension brakes all round, small bit of welding on the front, new brake lines, headlining and a recon on the wheels. Been a busy winter but cannot wait to get her on the road come summertime. :-D

My First time posting on the forum :-o
Our Mk2 gt2- bought late October last year. Spent most of winter trying getting the underside sorted.
Beams blasted and coated, new brakes, suspension, brake lines, now had the front suspension, arb and brake components blasted and coated. Waiting to buy some powerflex bushes £££££ then get the front back together.
Poor thing has some god awful lacquer peel which we hope to tackle at some point this year :?

I am sure that this money grubbing whore will break me. But not before I throw my heart, soul and all my money into it. :stupid:
Why do I keep doing this to myself!?!?!

1985 German Market Scirocco, spent 25+ years in an Upstate NY barn. This is just after coming out of the barn (with a bit of cleaning up), in my son's shop...

Nice looking car MikeS0000, not sure I would place my front axle stands where you had yours.... I place mine further back near the wishbones.

What are your plans for the front struts?
If you start up a project thread in the other section then you can keep us updated on what you are doing.

Great idea. I will do that. Going to replace the strut assembly, everything but the spring unless they are not good, then the springs also. I'll take some photos and post them in the other forum.

Thanks for thinking of this!
