Is there a thread you want us to report individual issues on? Should we just use this one?

When I click on this thread - a car for sale - GT with engine problems for £400

http://www.sciroccoregister.co.uk/carfo ... =3&t=18375

I got a 'The requested thread does not exist' error message.

Also - my PM inbox and sent messages have this problem. I'm told I have a large number of PMs (and I believe that number would be about right) but I can't see them.

From what I can gather (have an unread on myself) this is from before the problems, any PM's received after will show up in your "inbox" and can be opened :)

Any lost PM's will remain lost I'm afraid.

As per the main thread in 'using the forum' there was a back up issue a few weeks back.

Adding this to that thread so that all of this stuff being discussed in one area.

Do you know if we'll regain the space taken up by the lost messages?

I too have Inbox oddness. It says 100% full and thus unable to accept any new incoming PM, but inbox only has 2 PMs showing in it. Ideas ?

The forum upgrade looks good. Thanks for all the effort that went into that.

I've still got the PM problem. If we can't fix the missing messages, can we clear them out of the database in the hope that it will free up PM inboxes? Or do we need to wipe all the PM related tables and start again?

I cant sent PM's, just reverts me to a "page cannot be displayed" or internet cannot access this. Been happening to me for the last 3 days although I have managed to send 1 PM in this time although I don't know if the person could read it or not

Sander still has some work to do and will advise when it's all done - for the record due to sheer volume of data and the time it would have taken we did decide that the old 'lost' pm's would not be retrieved from the back up.
As things settle then it's probably worth keeping any important info backed up elsewhere other than the forum.

Cheers
