Hey,
I have had some strange markings/stains (light brown coloured) on the roof and bonnet and they look like Sap or something. They are spread across a small area on each part. I have washed and waxed the car numerous times and they don't come off. When washing the car when its wet you can't see them properly either. They have got better but won't go. I am not sure what it is.. if I use my nail it comes off slightly but not great. Worrying its gonna damage the paint. Any products that I can use?
Thanks

Re: Paint Markings
Sounds like tar, try some brake cleaner but don't leave it on too long!

Re: Paint Markings
Could be tree sap if it's brown as I get some on my car from the trees at work but I don't park under them. I either just wash the car with warm water and carefully pick it off with my finger nail, Autogym car wax gets it off with a bit of rubbing or it's its really stuck on a little bit of methylated spirits on a clean cloth.
You also could try tar and bug remover.
If you have waxed the car you may of sealed the sap under the fresh wax.
What ever you try be careful with the paint if it's the original VW paint.
