Waiting on parts dude, would have had it running today otherwise. Will most prob be in the Golf for Ultimate as I'm taking a few people with me, seems sadistic to make them sit in the back of a Scirocco! :hehe:

Riiiiiiiiiiiiight, been a while....

Last month or so has been a mad rush to collect parts, have spent way too much money but its been fun doing my bit for the national deficit :yup:

I have however done a few bits of dirty work, first up was making my own GTI grille...

Image

Got myself some tinted rears but wasn't happy with them so decided to make my own, fairly chuffed with the outcome...

Image

Will be fitting a larger servo too, got the fabled G60 item and after a load of paint stripper and wet and dry, was left with this...

Image

Which after 2 coats of zinc primer and loads of satin black now looks like this...

Image

Rad cowling and a few other bits next :good:

In other sad geek news, put this together at 11:30 last nite after an 11 hour shift...

Image

Cheap and cheerful granted, but it will only see light use so should last. Expecting a large delivery tomorrow, again, watch this space :beers:

1 PM finish at work gave me a little time to faff about today, got the engine lifted onto the stand with a mate and started the cleaning, took a few hours but the rear of the block is done to a fairly decent standard.

Manky...

Very Manky...

Half way there...

Done...

Camera flash has made it look real rusty, i assure you its not too bad :hehe:

Day off wednesday, hopefully clean the rest and get a lick of paint on it :good:

Looks great Alex!

I'm going down the revvy 1.6 route, so we'll have to compare notes when they're both finished :groove:

Jeeeeeeeeeeeesus painting a block is a right ball-ache. Cleaning and painting I think I'm on about 12 hours in total, still need a few more coats on the front. Anywho, here's how it looks as of 8:30 tonight...

Not perfect by any means, but certainly better than a lump of mud, oil and rust.

Still loads to do, bring it on! :training:
