Post by Village Idiots »

Anyone know the part number and availability of the short steel bent pipe joining the reservoir to the main pump on injection engines (1990 Scala)

If you find it's unavailable, this (highly recommended) ebay.com seller does them -

It's been unavailable from VW for 2 or 3 years.

Is it leaking?

Thanks for the info, guys. It's not leaking but is very rusty and it's easier to change now I've got the tank out for replacement.

I have one spare if you want it, it's pitted after I got rid of the rust but is solid (I was planning to get it powder-coated along with a couple of others I have).

It's currently bare metal so you can apply whatever rust protection method you prefer, let me know.

You would be surprised how much surface rust can be on these pipes, might be possible to clean up the old one as a spare when you swap it.

Before I forget, don't cut through the rubber pipes that attach at either end of the pipe, especially the one at the fuel pump end.

Thanks for that, Colin.
I ordered a stainless one from the States as in Mr Brown's post above.
