Slight site problem - probably my fault.

Post by Old Mac Rocco »

:help: :help: :help: For some unknown reason my previous visits are not being recorded with the effect when I click on "view new posts" it is giving me loads and loads of posts many of which I have already read ????????
This has only started recently and the only way I can clear the pages of posts is to log out and back in again.
Anyone else having this problem or is it my computer ????????
When I did it this visit I had 44 new posts but I had read 36 of them before and my last visit was down as Friday but I had been on earlier today ????????
Have I accidentally switched something off or what ????????
:help: very much appreciated.
Thank you.

To be honest, I normally just go into each section and look at the threads in red, which are obviously the ones I've not read.

However, I just tried the option you're both referring to and it worked fine for me. I got straight back to the main board index page without any problems.

:beers:

:hi: Cpt,
Just back on since I posted this up and now I have 53 "new posts" when in fact I have only 17 new posts ??????
It is also telling me the last time I visited was Friday when in fact it was when I posted this question ( Mon Jan 30, 2012 2:27 ) ?????????
The only way it will clear the posts I have read is if I log out and back in again ???????
May try your method and see what that throws up.
Strange,

Thanks guys, thought it was just me.
Thought I had hit a button somewhere and changed a setting.
Still happening today when I logged on, found 20 new posts but it was actually only 8 ????????
I'll have another look at my settings.

Yep it is often a good idea to clear all cookies, but note that you will have to enter your user name and passwords for any websites that require it next time you visit them.
