Porn. Pure porn. Excellent stuff dude, how long away is the finish line now mate?

Alex
Not sure on a finish yet Alex I did want to get it ready for the national meet but I couldnt get a spark. I think im going to be going distributerless when I gat some money together again. Just to get it running again im going to have to go over all the wires that were extended to check for any problems in the splicing.

I can certainly recommend MegaJolt. The aftersales is perfect, and it doesn't use the same kinda setup as the Lumenition style. Plus, is fairly cost effective, especially if you're handy with a soldering iron (although you don't need to be)

I've been reading up on megajolt now for a couple months. Im thinking about getting it from trigger-wheels because I dont have the time to sit around soldering the ECU together. They dont do a kit for vw 16v engines but they said that I would need the same as the vauxhall XE engine for it. Heres the kit they recommend,

WOW... that's not cheap

If memory serves the MJ4 with hard rev limiter cost me £90 and EDIS another £25. Just a matter of getting the crank wheel and we're away.

Is there a big difference between the 16v timing cycle and 8v?? MJ should still be the same, presumably it'd just depend on which EDIS and coil pack you need, but I can't imagine that it'd be THAT different. 4 strokes per cycle, 4 cylinders jus twice the amount of valves right?

I wouldnt have thought there was much of a difference between the 8v and 16v because they are both similar blocks its just the con rods and pistons that are different if memory serves me right.

That link above was another place I was looking at but didnt know if they shipped to the UK.

It's not difficult, but if you've not soldered SMT components before might be worth looking it up on the net. BUT it's NOT hard!!

Got the carbs fitted today but I hit a few problems along the way. Firstly the inlet manifold hit the coolant flang just below it so I trimmed a bit off of both the coolant flange and the inlet manifold. The second problem that I found was that the throttle linkage that I've got hits the coolant flange so im going to have to modify that so the throttle works correctly. The third problem being that the baseplate for my pipercross filter binds the alternator so I removed that and now im gonna have to find another filter that fits properly. I forgot to take pictures of what it was like before but heres one of what its like now.
