No, friend of mine in the US is restoring one that came factory fitted.

533820413A was exclusive to the Scirocco and as far as I know never available in the UK, though an option in some other European countries including Germany.

It might be worth exploring whether the Golf Mk1 equivalent 171820413 (superseded by 171820413C) might fit, as this is apparently still available as an aftermarket part.

I know this thread is a bit old, but if your friend is still looking for one, he might give this company a call.

They have the 171 part, and might know if it fits as is, or with some modifications. Maybe even better if your friend happens to still have the original 533 part he could send them some photos/measurements of.
