GT2 rough and overfuelling

Post by panzer »

Hi All, My GT2 has been standing before I bought it for a wee while, it's not very happy on first start , a little poppy with a wandering idle 1k-2k and exhaust fumes are smelling of fuel ? it's my first carb'd car so I need some pointers. Once it settles down it runs brilliantly so i doubt there is much wrong

If you're still running the original pierburg carb with auto choke, the wax stat is a common cause of rough cold starting if it's faulty. Available from VW Heritage and others.
