Dash without the usual cracks. Some minor damage around the binnacle where an engine fell on it in storage, which could easily be repaired. It's also had an immobiliser in the blanking point at some point. Now £25

Hi.
This could be my lucky day, I am trying to get a 4T gearbox for a while. I can't work out from the number what is what as there are so many different codes and numbers but to the best of my knowledge the 4T is the highest ratio available otherwise called a 4+E VW part numbers either 020300046F/X or 020300051R/X,[ratios 5th .75 final 2.67] so if you're sure that it's definitely a 4T box I would be very keen to get it,
I am based in S.Ireland so I would need to get it couriered over, DPD are the cheapest I've come across so if you were prepared to give them a shout and ask them for a price to send it to Annamoe in Wicklow hopefully we could do business, I've had them collect and send over alloys for around twenty a pair so I would expect them to be around fifty for a gearbox. The Irish website quotes fifty five for 25Kg collect and delivered to the UK.
I hope this wouldn't be too much trouble for you and I would appreciate it as these boxes are getting hard to find. I can arrange payment through PayPal, preferably, or electronic transfer if not.
Thanking you for your time, my phone number is 00353879683757 if you want send me a text and I can ring you back.
Best regards,
Derek Wilson.

I think that gearbox is a AGB as I think that’s what stamped in the plate and pictured (bit hard to see in the picture), the AGB is a close ratio Mk2 Golf 16v gearbox. The Mk2 Golfs also had the metal bracket which holds the clutch cable straight (you can see it in the 1st picture) as there is nothing to attach it to unlike the Mk2 Scirocco with the brake master cylinder above it.

The 4T gearboxes should have 4T stamped into the plate.
Like the one in this picture, silly amount of money for that gearbox....

I could be wrong and the internals changed?

Bugger, it is an AGB. My mate had them in a pile of gearboxes and they must have got mixed up. Not much use to people on here!
That's really frustrating as the 4T we took out was in good shape, and I'm not sure about the state of this AGB box. Should have paid more attention when I picked it up!

I believe the AGB gearbox will still fit on a Mk2 Scirocco or Mk1 Golf...

About half an hour drive. I'm pretty close to Cardiff city centre. I've got a huge pile of spares I'm slowly working through and selling.

Went out to check the codes on the gearbox in the (half)light.
It looks like it's an ACD box where the G has a score to make it look like a G.
I think this got mixed up in my engine builders pile of 020 boxes, when I left it there to pick up later. They're boxes he uses for racing, so it should be good.
100mm drive flanges.

Bump and updated prices to reflect being on eBay.
