whilst they don't actually list a kit to fit a rocco, the site migt provide inspiration to anyone who is thinking of building some. i came across it while looking for focus speakers (5"x8") and you lot thought decent 6x4s were hard to find!!

You looking for 5x8s? What about my 5x7s I don't need. Infinity reference biwire (ie components cobined in one speaker - a tweeter and a woofer with their own independent inputs). The tweeters are directional too I think. I'm assuming you haven't already got it sorted here.

do you have to bi-wire them? they're going to be used with a ford standard head unit for the time being

It's a tweeter and a woofer. They have independent inputs, in other words if you don't biwire them, you'll either get tweeter only or woofer only. Treat them as 2 seperate components, a tweeter and a woofer - they just happen to be attached to one another! I guess you could link the pos tweeter and pos woofer input and the same with the neg. They might behave like coaxial speakers then.

My intention was to fit them in place of the rears set back a bit and just use the woofers as I've got 3-way crossover so I have hi-pass in the front, mid in the back and lo-pass to the sub in the boot. I found some almost as powerful 6x4s though so I'm using them instead.

i suppose a small passive x-over in the door would solve the problem. how much ya wanting for them inc delivery?

I want to do something to get some decent components in there, I did this on my Polo which doesn't even have any door pod. Would like to do something similar but try and look even more OEM and more sealed and bolted to the door.

looks good what you've done on the polo door cards.. did you use that faux sticky back leather stuff to cover the wooden surrounds?

It's proper black vinyl upholstery fabric from a place that supplies coach builders/taxi's. It's got a fabric weave to the back of it. I just used evo-stick compact adhesive and used a heat gun to get it to stretch to the contours. I believe there are better glues for this sort of job but this seemed to work quite well.

Commonly called leatherette or Leather Cloth. The important thing is to make sure you stretch it, especially if you're gluing :)
