Re: Project Rouge - 1985 GTL
I love this little car, running sweeter than ever now with a new water pump, dizzy cap, rotor arm and a general tune up by Paul at the Phirm.

Very tidy indeed. looking great. Hope to see it bumping round Formby sometime soon...
Re: Project Rouge - 1985 GTL
A trip to see Ant and Emma this weekend and the GTL handled the long runs including M1 blockage induced cross country detours from Northants to Newark, a rapid 120 mile round trip to the top of the Peak District on Saturday evening and then the deluge on the A1 coming home yesterday.

height wise think i'll leave this one as is tbh alex - like the nose down look and also speed bump central round here.
16v will be at cosford all things being equal - rouge is a trusty old steed but after recent expense the black car 'owes' me!

Was a pleasure to ride shotgun as Rouge blasted through the twisty Peaky bits, a very cool car indeed

Re: Project Rouge - 1985 GTL
Performed faultlessly on a trip to Merseyside and back over last few days and also passed MOT today just with a couple of advisories - the usual rear bearing comment, track rod dust cover showing sign of wear and a slight leak from the front of the exhaust.
Sat and drove through some shocking rain and, fingers crossed, the leaking sunroof sorted for sure.
Good old Rouge!

Love the wheels and the "stance" - just right. Still think you should keep one with standard lights and grille though
And how much does that steering wheel look like the even rarer Neuspeed one from the 80s

Bit of GTL tlc courtesy of Paul at the Phirm.
Thought I had a dying alternator but (being an electrical numpty) thankfully just a bad earth on the gearbox mount - added new brake fluid and a complete clean up of rear brakes/hub assembly.
And.............as much as I love the current look......the wheels are (potentially) up for sale. Will decide tomorrow.
