Re: Project DCS (Derby College Scirocco) UPDATED 15th JANUARY

Post by GT Matt »

Now it's got 12 months ticket - decided to spend a bit of time giving it a clean and polish.

So over the Xmas break, me and my son gave it a full valet. My lad removed all the seats and shampoo'd them and the carpets. They look like new now - not a single worn thread in site

I tackled the exterior. Firstly I used T-cut colour restorer on all the paint. The glass was the cleaned thoroughly inside and out. The paintwork was then treated to several coats of autoglym. Lastly the blacks were sorted.

End results................................see below (I'm very pleased)

That looks spot on Matt, what did you use on the seats, as it is getting to the time I make a start on cleaning the Scala's white interior?

Hi Danny - thanks for the comments :beers:

Ian - I used a dilute upholstery cleaner, my George wet/dry vacuum cleaner and my 14 year old son as child slave labour. This is the third Scirocco interior he's done and he's really getting very good at it.

that looks bloody marvelous Matt.

THINKS - that story would make for a good write up in something like VW Driver Car, might be worth dropping Neil Birkitt a link via the Autometrix website given the Education angle/keeping youngsters interested in older cars.

Classic Cars/Practical Classics welcome 'your cars' stories too with a twist. :vcool:
