Finally at the stage I think he’s ready for mot
As it happens one of the issues I needed to fix was the constantly blinking cooling light because I’ve deleted the expansion tank level sender.
To sort this you only need the remove relay No 43 sat on top of the fuse box.
This puts the system back to the same as lower spec models without the level sender.

After being a pain in the butt Tuesday morning crusty was picked up for mot on a recovery truck and came back yesterday with a fresh ticket.
Only advisory was the number plate lights being naff even though they worked they aren’t bright enough which I knew about.
LED eBay specials :-/ I should have known better lol

So new lights ordered and now the hunt for car insurance starts
Looks like crusty is finally becoming the reality :-)

So after a number of miles it seems a number of wrinkles needed ironing out.
Number one is an annoying issue when the car warms up or runs for 20mins and starts cutting out.
After an awful lot of investigating it turns out my external high pressure fuel pump was a diesel one, whoops.
So splashed out and bought a new lift pump, main pump and filters

I’ve also moved the washer bottle back into the boot and swapped the pin out in the fuse box so the front washer action now activated the rear wash pump.
Running the washer bottle pipe was interesting from front to back but what helped is I had drilled a new hole in the bulk head when I swapped the bonnet cable over from the passenger side to the drivers side. I had enough space to pass the washer hose through there :-)
Happy days
Oh yeah if you want a propper cap on the bottle a 38mm one off eBay works a treat :-)

Another mod
The rear demister in the car really doesn’t work and I got sick and tired of it I had to think of another solution when someone at work remarked that he’d got a BMW X5 that uses blower motors in the boot instead of wires in the screen.
So after a bit of investigation I got a blower motor off eBay for about £14 and hacked it to bits and fitted it to the rear slam panel pointing up at the screen.
All I can say so far is it works and it’s well weird having air from the rear of the car ruffle your hair :-/

Got some calipers for crusty to try improve stopping
Stripped them down, gave them a clean and rebuilt them with fresh gubbins
Looking much better after a coat of Vht and a bake in the other

Just read this whole thread! Top work seen crusty a few times now I know what's actually gone into it to make it stand how it is now. Seems like them ramps needed a lick of paint for a long time 🤣
