Re: Blast from the past - Marmite
so the beetle has left the garage and i have strated getting it ready. white wash walls. needs another coat yet, shelf/bench at the rear which will store the large parts like seats. I picked up the these lights, 12 in total for £15 but i thing the 4 will do as it is crazy bright in there!
looking to board out the loft, fit shelves and paint the floor this weekend and get all the clutter off the floor. Should be a good space when done.

Excellent job on the garage - I'm totally jealous. Can't wait to see this after the respray!
(Little tip - when you copy the Photobucket link, remove the URL bits and just leave the IMG section - otherwise the browser opens up another tab/window every time you click on a picture. I did the first one for you in the sequence above so you can see the difference)

Re: Blast from the past - Marmite
cool. thanks for the tip. i've changed the others, makes sense.
thanks for the comment too. first one in about 2 pages i think!! they are doing a really thorough job of it and are ensuring they get every little bit perfect so no corners cut. they only started on tuesday (3 days in) so i am really pleased. I think it helps that the guy prepping it is a vw nut!! suprisingly they haven't found any problems yet either.
I love my garage now. my life has changed since buying a big air compressor too. air tools are the best!

its looking great Steve and please keep the pictures coming!
i love seeing build threads like this as it progresses especially when it goes from the nitty gritty rust repairs to eventually the finished article.
cant wait to see the post spray pictures.

Re: Blast from the past - Marmite
i dropped in on the bodyshop on the way home to see the car in primer and they've only gone and painted the shell! whoop. rubbish photos taken by me, and it is straight out of the booth, so still needs flatting back and polishing and a few bits sorting, but am sooo happy. colour looks lighter than before and more brown but i think it was always too dark previously as was almost black. the colour is soooo nice. Over the moon! they reckon 2 weeks to get everything else done. note the bentley in the background!
