Nearly a year and no pics though :-(

Sorry Mr G- here's some taken by others on National Day last year when the fuelling issue first reared it's head in fact.

MOT success for 8th straight year since rescue.
Due a bit of a tune up and some new front rubber plus a new sump gasket needed.

Low and slow keeps rockin' along.

Winter update - Had an overdue service with the Phirm before Xmas; largely running well but has just sprung a crack in the centre section of pattern exhaust - lucky I have a VW one in the stash.........
Minor grumble with the discarnect battery isolator - I'm losing fuses that keep the stereo memory/clocks runing whenever I use it..........
Badly needs a wash.

After a generally trouble free 530 mile round trip Easter - just the one stutter when accelerating hard up some of the hills on the A41 between Telford and Whitchurch - the GTL let me down at the local Homebase car park last weekend............... it's an old battery but with no tools I called the AA out.
Luckily the chap was a VW trained mechanic and quickly focused on the 'excitor' cable between battery and alternator via starter motor. A quick clean up and all was seemingly sorted.
Will be checking all the other cars too soon - wondering if this might have contributed to the aforementioned stutter if the car wasn't charging fully under maximum load.

Had it's first wash in 2016 today - nearly eight years on since the rescue job this old car ,'Low and slow', still makes me smile and do the 'look back in the car park' thing.

Another breakdown in the summer, in almost the same spot bizarrely but pointing back to a fuel starvation issue.
Despite AA diagnosis nothing shows up when I get my gurus Tim or Paul at the Phirm to checkover the charging systems. I fitted a new Voltage regulator just to make sure - brushes on the old one were looking a bit worn.
With fuelling now the likely cuplrit, rather than feck around and get caught out again this one now has a new fuel tank, new filler neck from the stash and another mounting gasket on the weber.

Ready for winter duties.

Swapped the rocker cover for a nice satin black one I had lying around after spotting a leaking gasket.

Rear box blowing, replacement sourced, not getting much use at moment this one.

Fresh MOT on Friday - the exhaust turned out to be leaking from the downpipe to centre section so back into the 'parts stash' for the new centre section and rearbox.
New Magnecor plug leads fitted this afternoon.

This one is now ready for a busy Autumn having barely done 1000 miles in last 12 months.

Or - who knows. Losing a garage soon so.... should I find it a new home?

A trouble free 500 mile round trip - apart from one of the new leads popping off the dizzy at one stage - to Formby safely completed last week.

Pre winter preventative maintenance on the glass sunroof this weekend.

The sealant used on the hinge bolts once a year. Seal in good shape and now suitably vaselined up too.

Bless Capn Tolley and all who sail with him :) It's Wonder Juice for sorting out little gaps that only take their remedies by capillary action. I use it on the sliding windows frame on the camper.
