Sharing my mk2 project

Post by Messer262 »

New here so thought is would share my project. 1988 mk2 16v. I am also looking for some input as I am thinking I should remove the black bumper guard trim from around it to make it look cleaner. What say the experts? I have swapped over the headlights to a set of Euro that it came with since the US lights were already changed over to HID so I’m happy with that. Also I have a new rear louvre for the back window and can’t decide on if I should mount it. I was thinking I would just sell it but a friend said I should mount it. Any input on that appreciated as well. Image

Welcome to the forum, hang up your coat and kick back....

I personally don’t mind the hip rubber strips around the body. As you say; cleaner looks all round when removed.

When the sun shines the back window becomes a death ray to anyone following. Great if you have tailgaters [emoji41], although I’m always conscious about it. So yep; I’m thinking about getting a louvre blind at some point in the near future. Is your Louvre made from metal or plastic?

Nice car [emoji106], not too sure about the rear window Louvre though. It looks oversized to me, no offence intended.

There is a metal version that is powder coated, it looks miles better. One or two examples are on here.

Thank you. I have always loved the lines of the scirocco. None taken. I wasn’t sure about it myself, which explains why it isn’t fitted.
