Test Cup Scirocco
Today in the automotive industry, to reach huge numbers of small series suggests exclusivity. Exactly the same applies to the special series of 50 Sciroccos launched by Volkswagen . The vehicles were not on normal sale, but were intended only for the participants of the VW Junior Cup. The promotion and the selection of serving on the growth drivers, only the standard black and technically identical Cup Scirocco be translated. GUTE FAHRT tested one of these exclusive cars, that are approved for road and track.
Technically, the Scirocco Cup is significantly different from the previous series. In particular, the chassis has been specially adapted to the purpose. Overall, the car sits a few centimetres lower (improved centre of gravity distribution) and was equipped with stiffer springs.
Sachs sport shock absorbers and a stabilizer on the rear axle complete the suspension preparation.

Indeed, the Scirocco Cup shows in fast bends down close as good natured, as in large radius curves. The contingent from the front drive under-steer was transformed into a largely neutral handling. Lying on what a high level of the suspension qualities of the Cup Scirocco, show trials that have been made in the Volkswagen factory. The measurements showed the peak value of 1.0g for the increased lateral acceleration. This means in practice, very high cornering speeds of fast road of sports cars like the Porsche 911 for example, can hardly be achieved.
Even the normal Scirocco can cross wind hardly impress the Cup thanks to their successful execution is even more resistant chassis revision.
