Are US spec a slightly different profile on mk1s, like they are on mk2s?

No they're a direct swap, the only difference US to Euro is that the lens pattern on the sides is different. Speaking to Andy at VR the other day, and they've even remoulded the rubber seal, so your lenses come with new seals too!

I would hope they would come with new seals at about £113.00 a set. :shocking:

Heavens above.

The negativity is astounding. It's not like VW is still knocking these things out for a fiver a piece. I mean if you are truly stuck for one (forget the hoarders who will never part as they think they will be worth a bloody fortune one day - as if?'

Applaud Vintage Rubber for sticking their necks out on this one and other products.

To mold a plastic object like that is going to take a huge amount of time and development - why not whittle one out of a big piece of Balsa wood for yourself!

i'm glad theyre doing this.

as for the price... it seems pretty reasonable to me since the last few times ive seen indicators go on ebay theyve sold for £80+ a set and theyre not exactly brand spanking condition and thats also without brand new seals!
they also dont often come up for sale either. ive been after a set for a while now since my originals have chips out of the corners :(

looking forward to the orange tinted ones though as clear just isnt retro enough for me and looks a bit odd imo.

If it's got tits or tyres it's trouble but I always go back for more.

Mk1's are niche cars, I think in the last 10 years I've seen 1 other while driving around, any other time I've seen them is when I visit someone or they've visit me, or at a show. On that basis, the market is limited, and VR should be applauded for the massive effort they've gone to to supply these, air-dams, and the multitude of seals they produce for our cars.

There were 2 options for these parts before, the beat up second hand bits, or the hoarded and massively overpriced NOS. Now there's a 3rd way, and the option for custom colours. :beers:

Bill, Sadly, I think you can never have too much money in this life - it is after all fleeting.

They look well made, $185 isn't bad for brand new.
