Longer wheel bolts. Info needed please...

Post by Redrum »

Hi chaps.

Im considering adding spacers to the rear wheels on Redrum to bring them out a bit, but will need longer wheel bolts. Halfrauds are being their usual unhelpful selves, so I wondered if people knew where to get them and what measurements (if any) I will need when ordering them? The wheels are 15in alloys and not standard.

Thanks.

G.

Hi Glen.
I recently got put a pair of 6mm spacers on the front.
Previous bolt threads were about 28mm got some new ones that are 35mm off of that there :ebay:

You need to add however much the spacer width is to the thread length over stock - not rocket science.
I found this a good intro for the basic things to know...

Thread pitch = 12x1.5mm :ok:

Also try to get them with the same bolt head measurement - mine came as 19mm so I've now got different sized heads as the locing nuts - not too much of a pain now - as I bought a new socket which has both on - but if you get the choice, stick with what you've got on the front - probably 17mm.

Got mine from here

Euro perfomrance have always been helpful when I;ve used them. Think their bolts were about £1.50 each.

Aftermarket wheel specialists will sell you longer bolts (and spacers). Make sure you get the correct type....angled or curved....for the wheels.

Glen,

PM us your address, maybe able to help out
got bolts on Ferocio which are aftermarket VW thread but 40-50mm Long IIRC
All I did was grind down to suit at front discs but the rear as I remember were straight swaps with 10mm spacers
