Sound deadening

Postby scirockirb » Fri Jul 14, 2017 9:05 pm

Does anyone know how thick the sound deadening is beneath the carpet?

Mine was stinking so has been binned. I haven't put the carpet back as it's going to need trimming round the pedal box and shift tower so it makes sense to replace the sound deadening.

I know Newtons do a standard replacement but I'd have to chop that up so it seems pointless. I'm thinking some sort of foil lined butyl but I want the carpet to fit right hence the thickness question.

No idea about the thickness, but I heard good things about the Dynamat.
