Re: Headlight upgrade kit, plug and play
hi all , just looking at this now and from my toying arounds with offroad toyotas, i just took my mk2 straight to hid and no looking back , far better lighting and cost very minimal . main lights and spots , have done it for years and nice thing is no extra loading on the electrical circuit , just far better lighting .
in the bush we have led or hid and only then is when it comes into its own.

I think you can't fit HID lights to an older car in the UK as they don't have automatic adjusters so I believe the car will fail its MOT when it comes around.
I could be wrong on this?

you are prob right mark , but over here if it just looks like a light you are fine ,
but have found the kits work a bomb , have set mine up in previous cars and works well ,not bothered about overseas spec but if i can see the road clearly thats all im looking for, remember out here there is plenty distance between towns etc

yes you are right unfortunately HIDs must be self leveling and have screen washersmark1gls wrote:I think you can't fit HID lights to an older car in the UK as they don't have automatic adjusters so I believe the car will fail its MOT when it comes around.

however the law doesnt appear to have any bearing on LED headlamps....

Re: Headlight upgrade kit, plug and play
lol yeah did comment on this one before i done the setup. to be honest, if all these newer cars are able to have their lights so bright it blinds everyone . then my kit is staying on too. the beam pattern is correct and a touch lower than max limit . ive had this setup now on a fair few months and havent been pulled over so untill i do its staying on. the scirocco headlights are crap even with the relayed kit so even us scirocco drivers need to see in dark unlit roads.

Re: Headlight upgrade kit, plug and play
Guys id love to just say "Yep, got a load all made up, ready to go" sadly however we hit a few snags, biggest one was Dave the engineer must have misinterpreted what I said regarding the fog lights (or I said it wrong), basically we are short of a connector to plug into those, his supplier doesnt stock them either. We really didnt want to go down the spade end route but that seems to be the only way were going to get the thing done.
Anyway, ppl please contact Dave and im sure he will fill you in on the finer details (contact details bit further up on page 1 I think)
