If you can find one, there is a Neuspeed brace that's specific for the mk1.

Yes, it's all about bonnet clearances.

Chopperoli was selling one recently, I think mazellan tony might have got it.

The mk2 one for dx engines cars will require bonnet mods , check Ryan's old build thread re the NRB Storm.

I have a Weichers Mk1 Scirocco upper strut brace gathering dust somewhere.. I use a mk1 Golf Nuespeed fitted backwards (to clear bonnet)
