Re: Spotted

J24 CUY - Black mk2

On the M3 today near Eastleigh.

I gave the thumbs up - I was the big pillock in the black passat estate with the caved in rear passenger door.

Re: Where do the cool kids go these days....

Im not that bothered about controlling the ipod from the headunit, i just want to be able to use an aux socket as radio transmitters are complete shoite!

Not too fussed about audio quality as its just for audiobooks but want a cheap solution. Will check out the sites, ta :)

Where do the cool kids go these days....

....to buy car stereos?

I'm after 2 things

1. A single din head unit, front AUX socket for iPod, highish output, cheap, not made by someone I've not heard of.

2. A converter plate to allow it to fit in to a double din slot of an '07 Passat.

Any recommendations?

Re: Quick ignition amplifier question

I bet it isnt glue but thermal conductive compound. It will be similar to what you sandwich between a CPU and its heatsink.

Re: Bonnet Query (Filmidget)

I will weigh my bonnet over the weekend.

Yep, I think the weight saving won't be worth the cost. A cut down bonnet like yours on bonnet pins will do the job for me and probably still be a better fit.

Thanks for the idea :)

Bonnet Query (Filmidget)

The other thread was locked but this interested me....

Did you attack this yourself? Angle grinder? I had thought about doing this but thought I'd end up going through the top skin.

Re: 1.8t scirocco

Even non stripped the scirocco will weigh half what a mk4 golf does so your power to weight ratio will double.

It would be incredibly quick.

Re: advice on extending/shortening wires

Get yourself a cheap soldering iron and some heatshrink and practise on some odd bits of wire until you get a pro looking join. Its easier than you think :)
