Re: Mk2 radiator question
The injection cars have a 525mm radiator, hence why your EX shroud doesn't fit!

Re: Handbrake warning light keeps coming on
The handbrake warning light also acts as a warning light for low brake fluid so best check that first! If not low fluid, does the light go out when you depress the switch under the handbrake with your finger? If so then it could be the handbrake lever is slipping off the switch when you are driving,...

Re: Mk1 louvre
I've got one of those sitting in my garage, unused. Agree that's taking the water, but's what a realistic price? btw - I have another one that I bought from the USA (again new and unused), this one is metal and has 'Shadow' as an emblem in the corner. I also have a Trailblazer perspex rear name pan...

Re: Oil change
Go down to your local VW dealer and grab 5 litres of Synta Silver and a genuine oil filter and sump washer, should cost less than £25 all in!

Re: Ducellier distributor
Pretty certain that some cars with the 1.8 EX engine had Bosch dizzys fitted as well, these may be easier to find! You could speak with your local friendly VW dealer and ask them for part numbers that are compatible.

Re: Gauge Illumination Wire Thickness
Take a look at the existing illumination cable, it is grey and blue and not very thick as the OEM bulbs are only 1.2w.
I would recommend soldering and covering with heatshrink!

Re: gear linkage help!
Last time I did this (at a show for someone else!), I used a 15mm socket as a guide, with mazellan holding it whilst I tighten the nut up from underneath, worked at treat afterwards.
