Re: VW Vento engine???

Yep this should fit beacuse the vento has the same engine compartment as the mk3 golf. You will just need to change the engine mounts over for the ones on the rocco then its a straight swap into your bay.

Re: Problems with wiring

its for an 85 GTX.

Ive connected the live and earth up I just couldnt work out where the blue/grey one went. When I connected the radio up and started the car it didnt work. Im thinking of running a wire from the battery with an inline fuse to the radio. Would that be ok to do.

Problems with wiring

All the wires going into the iso socket on the car have been cut and I havent got a clue where the wires go. The wires on the female plug are different to the wires in the car due to the socket being changed at some point. Has anyone got a photo of the wire colours behind the centre console.

Re: 1991 Scirocco GT2 16v project

Its not too bad as long as your mechanically minded its fairly easy. Its just the loom that worries me because im not that good with electronics.
This is the first car I have ever done any serious mods to.

Re: 1991 Scirocco GT2 16v project

Not too many problems really mate just a bit of shortening of the loom and extension of some of the wires. Ill get some pics up when I can take some good photos.

Re: Forced Induction and K-Jet

Stealth Racing in Warickshire are good for this as they made multiple 1.8 16v turbos running on K-Jet. May be a good place to ring and pick their brains.

Re: 1991 Scirocco GT2 16v project

Ive used the complete engine and lighting loom as well as the dash loom and Golf fusebox. This was so I didnt have to much about with Relays and stuff. I found out where the fuel pump wiring goes into the plug for the rear loom and took the pin out and refitted it into the rear loom plug and then im...

Re: Clutch getting stiff and then going back to normal

Its had a new cable and it looks like its already had a repair plate fitted. I did notice that when the clutch pedal went stiff there was about 2mm gap under the adjusting plate that sits on the gearbox before it goes to the release arm. Could this be the problem.

1985 Scirocco GTX

I bought this car in October from Niell Baker (Kariba on the forum). I had to just look at the car until the end of October because I couldnt afford to insure it. During this time, however, I decided to do a couple bits to the car that needed doing. The first was to fix a pudding stiring gear linkag...

Re: 1991 Scirocco GT2 16v project

So onto the present. It has taken 1 year and 4 months to get to this stage. Not too bad considering I have only been able to work on the car for three weeks at a time during my last year at university. During this time the engine has been put into the car. The car has fallen off the axle stands at t...

Re: 1991 Scirocco GT2 16v project

Then the next stage was to get the engine out of the Mk2 Golf and change the cambelt and head gasket. This was done as a precaution just incase the cambelt snapped and need a head rebuild. Heres a quick picture of the car that donated its heart for mine. http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee319/mill...
