Not running

Right, about a month ago the Rocco broke down up the road. After a few days the police came round as someone had complained about it so i left it there a bit longer to piss them off a wee bit. However last week i brought it home. Would not fire up and when a friend was turning it over i noticed the ...

Re: Only 150 Left?

figure has been speculated on before - difficult to confirm given DVLA quote hundreds of £ to respond to such requests. Did not realise the Doovla charged a lot for these requests. I realise clubs are able to ask about these things but apparently us mere mortals are not able to. How hard can it be ...

Re: Spotted

Saw this one yesterday outside what looked like a Beetle garage. Anyone on here? Liked the artwork on the bonnet.

Re: Spotted

White Mk2 driving up to the set of traffic lights which took about 25 minutes to change at the roadworks near Coed y Brenin in Wales. Could have probably stopped, gone back spoke to the driver, had a drink and a scone whilst they waited for the lights to change in the other direction, but we needed ...

Re: kill the rust

Or use bilt hammer products. They really are amazing. If you are grinding back the rust you want to put on Hydrate 80. Its not cheap, but its the Canis lupus familiaris' male generative glands. Bilt Hammer products actually seem to work. I got tipped off to it a few years ago by Tim Morgan, the then...

Re: Spotted

My mate said he flashed a silverish Scirocco going past Golden Acre Park at the weekend thinking it was me. He thinks that the driver thought he was warning him about speed cameras or something as the Rocco braked and slowed down after he flashed. Having just re-read this, i know the things that go ...

I have some hinges and have been meaning to do this for ages. Other things keep cropping up instead.

Will get to it eventually.

Re: 86 Scirocco feeling sluggish!

If the gasket has only just gone you may not get sludge just yet. It depends how much has mixed. There may still be overheating and oil and water dissapearing. Simply refil your oil and water and just keep a check on it and make sure the heater in the car is blowing hot air. Also check the water is ...

Re: my scirocco is a pussy magnet

A few years ago i saw our cat jump onto the recently painted, nicely polished sloped bonnet of my old GT6. The emphasis in that sentence is on the 'nicely polished' part. The cat slipped on the lovely shiny surface i had spent far too long buffing to a shiny slippery mirror, started plummeting down ...

Re: Crappiest Car I have driven!!!!!!!!

Despite the overwhelming dislike of french cars here i have to say i am a bit of a fan. The 205 GTi is a beleter. Admittedly, you cant hear the stereo for the rattles and squeaks of all the plastic and the sound of bits of car falling off, its a joke to work on as it was designed by the French and t...

Fiat Punto. Bloody awful things. Do not have a good thing to say about them. Good news is the fact that they are all dissapearing from our roads with head gasket failure. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Re: spray guns

Wait for the next Aldi Air Tools sale. The compressors are pretty powerful and dirt cheap for the hobbyist. Saying that i have not used mine yet, as i am painting the Imp in white as a practice before i tackle the Rocco, but it gets good reports.

Re: define pinking

It is called pinking because when you hear the engine run it does literally make a 'pink, pink, pink' kind of metallic noise as the tappets move.

Try some Redex first and if it continues look at the timing.
