Covered the inside wheel well with waxoyl today, looks like shit but hopefully it'll keep the tinworm at bay. While I was in the boot I noticed a small puddle, traced it back to the rear light and found another bodge. Some sort of sticky, gunky crap that obviously doesn't work as it's still leaking...

Try looking around for Bilstein B4's, these are a direct replacement for OE shocks and are the dogs bollox, and perfect if you ever want to uprate the springs to something like Eibach! I have these and Eibach springs on my Storm and they are faultless. Ring these people up, they were selling the B4'...

Check your fan fuse first, if okay then the thermo switch. Water pump working? I know it is like sucking eggs but do you have enough coolant (and the right type G11)?

The brown is indeed earth, the main red cable will be permanent live (run a multi-meter across it) and the red spur from that live will be for a radio that required a switched live. Yes, that is the correct part number for the seal cord. It can be used for all sorts of applications, the rear lights, door membranes, holding carpet down etc etc. I don't remember there being any sealant on the rear spoiler on both of my cars when I removed them to clean the glass! You may not be aware but the cars came with parking lights, with the ignition off if you have the indicator stalk switched to left or right it makes the side and tail lights come on that side.
