TS screen.
So am at last making progress with the mk1 resto due to suddenly having a bit more time on my hands! Got the screen out of the back of the shed (bought 15 years ago from vw company near Southampton that went out of business) and noticed on the packaging that it stated specifically that it was for a ...

I have an '81 Mk1 in the same blue which I must confess has other primer colours as I have had to do the usual repairs. Still going strong though!

Re: Quick rack conundrum- SOLVED!
Update on the conundrum- Someone kindly suggested that it was in fact the rack itself which was a reproduction and had a larger bearing. I have since sourced an original item and will install the quick rack soon. I will let you know how it goes!

Re: Quick rack conundrum
Thanks Pete, It appears that someone on here experienced the same problem some years ago but he managed to source a 20x35x7 bearing (lucky!!) which has proved impossible for me despite hours of research/calls. I am unaware as to how other people got around this problem as I am not registered on any ...

Quick rack conundrum- SOLVED!
Hi, I have to change the rack on my Mk1 Scirocco so I bought a new one from a popular website which was advertised as being for a Mk1 golf. I decided to also buy a quick rack 2.9 and fit it into the new rack before fitting the lot. Problem is that the pinion bearing is too small. Don't understand wh...

Importing rare Mk1 items.
I have just bought a xenon front spoiler, zender rear spoiler and strut brace from a chap in California and have the unenviable task of shipping said items to the U.K.! Does anyone have experience of this and could recommend the best/cheapest courier?
