Re: Stolen - Mk7 Golf GTD & Mk3 Scirocco - West Midlands
Interesting update - The scirocco has been found - Was actually found a week ago in Kingstanding, Birmingham, but the police decided to not tell us until today  No sign of keys, but the car is there. With that in mind, as much as I had suspected we wouldn't be seeing either of them again, if ...

Re: Stolen - Mk7 Golf GTD & Mk3 Scirocco - West Midlands
I am suspecting we arent going to be seeing these again unfortunately, but in the spirit of trying everything, I do have a couple of pics now: http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn260/dan95x/golfgtd.jpg Further to details above, I never thought to add, Golf is a 3 door http://i306.photobucket.com/al...

Stolen - Mk7 Golf GTD & Mk3 Scirocco - West Midlands
Morning all, One of those horrible ones for me this morning I am afraid, just took a phone call from my dad to say that overnight someone broke into our house and took the keys to both his Golf and his partners Rocco, stealing both cars. They were taken from Walsall, West Midlands Mk7 Golf GTD in Da...

Re: Chrome Gutter Trim
Hi Fella, That was my thread - I dont (long term) want none oem either, but for £12 that stuff really is OK - Certainly in my opinion looks better than tired OEM. I have the same problem as you - the later trim that is foil wrapped in plastic, and you just cant do anything with it once water has cre...

Re: Mk1 Trim Clips
I have just looked it up on ETKA, and it looks like I may have been wrong - Part numbers are definitely different, but there is still something nagging at me telling me that they are the same as the clips on the 1303 somewhere. I think we have some of the 1303 clips in the family garage at home, I w...

Mk1 Trim Clips
Afternoon Chaps, Does anyone know of a source for the exterior trim clips for a Mk1 rocco - The ones that hold the boomerang on around the rear side windows, and also the slightly larger ones that hold the chrome strips on on the sills? A part of my memory tells me that they may be the same as the t...

Mk1 & 2 Scirocco Window Regulators - The same?
Hi all, Been ages since I have been on here due to work (been ages since I have done anything to the scirocco due to the same!) and just sorting out some niggles. My Mk1 passenger side window regulator is stuffed - I have never had a mk2, so does anyone know if they are the same? - I appreciate this...

Re: Mk1 Rocco/Golf Press Photo
great photo, shame it fell into the wrong hands. Thought you meant the photo at first, not the car! Shame both of them appear to be dead then really - Imagine the scene tax on a MK1 Golf GTI press car! If any other rocco gems turn up I will post them, a lot of the stuff he has is aircooled stuff, a...

Re: Mk1 Rocco/Golf Press Photo
I thought that too - But then was the storm front spoiler available as an optional extra too, as it is not unusual for PR photo cars to be fitted with all optional extras available, so it could be that rather than an actual 'storm' in the picture?

Mk1 Rocco/Golf Press Photo
I was given a bit of a cracking pressie yesterday - Bit of Back story is that my Granddad owned a VW main dealers in the Midlands, from the 50s, through till the early 80s - 'Jem of Walsall' in the Pleck, for any of our older members in the area! He was having a bit of a sort out and came across som...

Re: Nice Haul!
What a git! (I was bidding against you by the way - would have bid more but forgot the auction was finishing and was away with work!) I know the stuff is difficult to get hold of and 'rare', but it isnt always that easy to sell for 'big' money as teh market is fairly limited too, so good luck to him...

Chrome Gutter trims - A possible solution
I know plenty of Mk1 owners are desperate for Chrome gutter trims - I am one of them, as the Passenger side one of mine is knackered. I have, however found a (probably temporary) solution. I was at a classic car show with my Grandad, and there was a stall selling all sorts of bits of rubber, trim, h...

Just to add confusion to the mix, my late '79 Gli also has the inboard brake lines!
