Re: Hose on air box (size and replacement)

It's just a vacuum hose. Any 3mm vacuum hose will be fine, just cut to fit - https://www.amazon.co.uk/sourcing-map-Silicone-Flexible-Transfer/dp/B07QKPQPP2/ref=as_li_ss_tl?crid=3AX1W1OJXBYQU&dchild=1&keywords=3mm+vacuum+hose&qid=1593182287&sprefix=3mm+vacu,aps,142&sr=8-7&lin...

Hose on air box (size and replacement)

Hi,

Image

What is the small tubing called circled in the picture? Also, the rubber hose at the end which connects to the airbox unit is perishing and I was wondering what size it was and where I could buy a replacement?

Thanks

Re: Air filter unit removal

Hi, I've managed to get it off. It did indeed wiggle off. I'm always extra careful when it comes to old plastic things like that when I've never had to remove them. I give it a yank and if it doesn't come off first time, I'm worried it'll break. I cleaned inside the carb and put it all back together...

Air filter unit removal

Hi, It seems that everything that should be simple on my car isnt. Fortunately I've been lucky and haven't had many problems so far. However, I'm trying to get the air filter unit off to clean the carb flaps to see if that's the problem with my intermittent sticky throttle. I've disconnected the bre...

Sticky throttle

Hi, I've got an intermittent issue with a throttle. It happened earlier in lockdown when I started the car, by turning the key and pressing down slightly on the pedal the revs shot up to 4000, I turned the engine off and turned it back on and it was fine. The other day I was driving and I went into ...

Re: Original seat refurb

Got a non damaged drivers seat, but its very uncomfortable, creaky and I sink very low into it. Is there any DIY repairs you can do, or someone I can get to refurb it? Where are you based? There is someone in Surrey who can maybe help. He has a collection of classic American cars too London....Surr...

I might be able to make this. The Facebook page doesn't show many classics though - or not as many as I'd like.

Re: Reverse light switch

That makes sense as where they are positioned. I've just bought one from B&B parts on eBay. Hopefully it'll do the job!

Black Swan Pub Meet - Surrey

Hi,

I saw a picture of a MK1 at the meet on Sunday. Anyone here?

For anyone else - there's a Facebook group and it's the second Sunday of the month

Re: Reverse light switch

If you have the 2 wire/pin type you can check to see if the switch is at fault by unplugging the 2 wires, switch the ignition on and touch the 2 wires together, if the reversing lights come on then switch is at fault, if no lights it’s a wiring problem. Cheers for that Mark. I'm doing the service t...
